The Green Blue is a joint venture between the British Marina Federation and Royal Yachting Association, with significant additional funding provide by Defra’s Environmental Action Fund, The Crown Estate’s Marine Stewardship Fund and other partners. The Green Blue exists to provide environmental information and advice to the recreational boating community. Its remit is to cover both inland and coastal waters, and both recreational marine businesses and boating and watersports enthusiasts through a range of activities.

This database was compiled by consultants ABPmer as part of the first phase of The Green Blue’s research programme. It was part of a wider study into ‘The Environmental Interactions of Recreational Boating’.

The information presented here is a result of a literature search conducted by ABPmer on behalf of the Green Blue. The information contained in the literature does not necessarily reflect the views of ABPmer. The confidence weighting applied is intended to be used as a guide only and is a function of the following:

Is the full document available
Does the document contain quantifiable information
Has the document been subject to peer review
Does the document represent a review of existing information, report on opinions/judgment

These values are taken into consideration when making a judgment on confidence. Where confidence is not given as 'good', this does not mean that the information cannot be relied on, it is purely a reflection of the type of report. Similarly, a value of good does not imply that the conclusions of the report reflect the views of ABPmer.

Unless specifically stated to the contrary, ABPmer does not restrict the wider distribution of their project deliverables where these have been funded by any public body and ABPmer acknowledges that under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, public bodies have an obligation to communicate certain information to third parties if they are properly requested to do so. However, all recipients of such information should be aware that the majority of studies conducted by ABPmer are undertaken by reference to detailed technical scopes and are responded to using bespoke methodologies agreed with the contracting party. Accordingly, unless expressly stated to the contrary, any report, study, research or other information including all information on this database (“Information”) provided by ABPmer is provided only for the benefit of the public body funding such work. ABPmer makes no representation or warranty about the relevance or accuracy of any such Information to any third party, no third party may rely on any such Information and ABPmer accepts no liability to any third party to whom such Information is communicated. Furthermore, all data and methodologies used to create the project deliverable remain at all times the property of ABPmer.

ABPmer recommends that Information is only ever communicated or passed on in its entirety. This is to avoid information contained in study reports from being drawn out of context from the wider purpose of the study.

Information that is expressly provided by ABPmer in confidence to a public body or is stated on the face of it to be confidential will not be communicated to any third party except with the prior written consent of ABPmer.

In no event will we be liable for any direct, indirect, special, punitive, exemplary or consequential losses or damages of whatsoever kind arising out of access to, or the use of any Information contained in this database, including loss of profit and the like whether or not in the contemplation of the parties, whether based on breach of contract, tort (including negligence), product liability or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages provided that nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
